The City of Olympia, LOTT Clean Water Alliance and the Port of Olympia are in the preliminary stages of creating a response plan to protect Downtown Olympia and the Port peninsula from the impacts of sea level rise. Creating a response plan is consistent with the City’s Comprehensive Plan and is a priority action in the City’s recently adopted Downtown Strategy.
A Community Meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at the Olympia Center, 222 Columbia Street NW, Multipurpose Rooms B and C. Staff will be available beginning at 6:30 p.m. to answer questions about our current understanding of sea level rise and past work efforts. The formal presentation starts at 7 p.m., focusing on the current Sea Level Rise Response planning process, including project approach, schedule, community engagement opportunities and expected outcomes.
